情商教育系列讲座(6) - 不追求完美

五月，父母子女教育俱乐部将继续廖冰(Bonnie Liao)博士主持的情商教育系列讲座。在三月、四月讨论完情商教育的头两个关键要素："建立良好的亲子关系"和"孩子的内驱力"后，第六期讲座中廖博士会带领大家聚焦第三要素 "接纳完整的孩子，不追求完美"。

很多家长认同EQ Parenting的理念，但还是常怀焦虑，尤其是看到孩子跟"别人家的孩子" 不一样。每个孩子都拥有不同的才智特性和个性, 如何才能有效地读懂自己的孩子，并帮助我们自己接纳孩子的全部，无条件地相信孩子会以自己的色彩影响这个世界？
怎么引导一个追求完美的孩子?
大池塘里的小鱼，还是小池塘里的大鱼，你会选择做哪个？
为什么有些优秀的孩子得了抑郁症？

讲员简介：

廖冰博士: 充满激情地推广情商教育十余年，她具有号召影响力，从东海岸到西海岸，已在全国做过70多个与情商教育有关的演讲或研讨会。2007年5月，创建非营利英华国际学校，全美最先融合中英双语的小学； 自2002年5月创建非营利英华语言学校以来，担任校长十多年并运用与推广《马立平中文》； 自2004年创建非营利"英华在北京" 语言与领导能力暑期学院以来，每年亲自带领美国青少年在北京学习并为贫困学生服务；自2012年创建非营利英华普林斯顿语言与领导能力学院以来，带领来到美国的非英语母语青少年学习与实践并进行野外生存训练；自2004年，担任新州父母子女教育俱乐部总顾问，为华人父母提供一个学习和讨论的平台， 不断提高个人和子女情商，开发智商，增进和子女的交流。2000年罗格斯大学工商管理硕士；1991年休斯顿大学物理博士；1984年北京大学物理学士。2007年从美林证券公司辞职，致力于教授数学及创建非营利学校。目前，在美银美林工作。养育了正在读大学的一儿一女。

家庭Zumba。 由 club 青少年成员 Billy Liu (刘敬华) 带领跳舞。Billy 曾获2011年 Summer Sizzling latin youth competition Jive, chacha,青少年第一名。2012年 American Ball competition Latin junior I Sumba, Jive, Rumba 第一名。
小孩才艺表演, 欢迎您的孩子表演他们的才艺，请预先注册、请准时。

7:00 - 9:00pm: 讲座与讨论。(有儿童托管, 费用是每家$5. 欢迎您的孩子报名参加各项活动俱乐部包括儿童手工，儿童中文电影， 国际象棋，打乒乓，读书会, Lego Club, Hip Hop 舞。)

PCE club will continue the EQ Parenting series hosted by Dr. Bonnie Liao, EQ education has three key elements:
Relationship between parent and child
Self-motivation
Not seeking for perfection

The fifth lecture series EQ Parenting seminar will further extend the concept of emotional intelligence education and extended to celebrate and accept each child's uniqueness - Not seeking for perfection. Many parents agree with the EQ Parenting ideas, but still with anxiety, especially compare with "other children". Every child has different talents and personality characteristics, how to understand our children, and accept children uncondi-tionally and believe that children will contribute to the world?
What is smart parenting for smart kids?
Is it better to be a big fish in a small pond or a little fish in a big pond?
Why depression?

Whether you are a parent and child education club''''''''s new friends or old friends, clubs are warmly welcome you to participate in this event.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Bonnie Liao, Passionately promoting EQ Parenting for over a decade, she is an inspirational speaker and has had over 70 speeches or workshops across the country, from east coast to west coast. Founder and Head of School, YingHua International School, a nonprofit private elementary school, one of the first Chinese-English dual language schools in the United States; Founder and Principal, YingHua Language School, the first commu-nity-based school accredited by CSS at Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; Founder & Director, "YingHua in Beijing" Summer Language & Leadership Institute providing learning opportunities to American youth ages 8 to 17 who spend a month in China; Founder & Director, YingHua Princeton Language & Leader-ship Institute providing learning opportunities to international youth ages 9 to 18 who spend a month in the United States; General Advisor, New Jersey Parent & Children Education Club, the only NJ nonprofit associa-tion focusing on parent-child communications, raising emotionally intelligent and motivated children. MBA, Finance / Information Technology, Rutgers University; Ph.D., Physics, University of Houston; BS, Physics, Pe-king University. A former VP in Management Science, she left Merrill Lynch to teach mathematics at a top pri-vate college preparatory high school in New Jersey for two years. Currently she is a consultant at Bank of Amer-ica / Merrill Lynch. Raised a son and a daughter who are both college students currently.

7:00pm - 9:00pm: presentation (Childcare available, kids activities include: Arts & Craft, kids movie, Chess club, PingPong club, book club, Lego club, Hip Hop dance. cost is $5 per family)
